1. Happy Month of Vegan Food!

It's November and so it's time to start Vegan MoFo. There are a lot of bloggers doing a lot of really creative cooking and writing. I don't have a theme or much in the way of organization, but I figure most people will cut me some slack since it's my first time.

For the most part, I'll be keeping it simple. My goal is to post something every day. It's a big step up from the sporadic month on/month off kind of thing I usually do.

I was in Pittsburgh over the weekend and had the pleasure of eating at The Double Wide Grill. They have a nice variety of vegetarian and vegan offerings and were even able to tell us what shots were vegan-friendly. The seitan wings were different than most of the seitan I've had before, but really delicious. Neither the entree I or one of my dining companions had is listed on the menu I linked, but both were fantastic.

(This is probably the laziest write-up I've ever done).

In other news, I recently had an Asian pear for the first time. It was pretty good. And I'm only mentioning it because I have a picture of that, but failed to get any at the restaurant.

  3. Thanks guys! I thought about reviewing the Asian pear, but I felt like it's not my place the review fruit.
